Second verse, same as the first

This morning's test revealed another faint line. But upon reflection, I'm not entirely convinced. If I were far enough along to notice symptoms, surely I'd be seeing a dark line by now, right? On the other hand, I was using cheapy tests, so my next plan of action is to wait a few days and try again with a name-brand test.

So, stay tuned, guys... and thanks for the support! I was afraid my ultra-sporadic posting of late would have put me right off the radar screen. No matter what happens, it's been fun playing the "what-if" game again, after so long of a hiatus. The weirdest thing was having to remind myself that if there were a baby, it would not be Lydia. This would be some other new baby, who I'd have to get to know from scratch. I think I remember a couple of other "moms after a loss" having similar feelings (Laura and DBM come to mind), so I guess it's par for the course.

Most likely this is much ado about nothing, so I'm going to try to not think about it too much this weekend. After a week of cold rain, we've actually got some sunshine today, so there's lots of garden work to be done. I'll write again as soon as I have more news...

Not necessarily. First time out, big symptoms and dark line. Second time out, big symptoms and light line. Third time out, no symptoms and light light line. This time, I got a definite "pregnant" and hadn't noticed a thing. It all depends on the hormones in your body, etc. And every pregnancy is different. :o)

I'll trust you on that Catherine :) I thought most women had an intuitive instinct as well as feeling things were different before they checked but what does a guy know? :)

I am with Catherine. Any line at all means there is elevated HCG in your system. What that would normally mean is a little bean starting to gestate in there. Of course there are probably other things that can cause elevated HCG, but what do I do? I push papers for a living!

Enjoy your long weekend not stressing out. Of course, I am going to be eagerly awaiting the promised update.

I even told my sister your news. She was like "uh huh, so someone you don't even know might be pregnant. great. So, as I was saying..." I guess she just isn't as excited as I am :)

Oops. Not "what do I do?", but rather "what do I know

Catherine -- that's good to know! I'll try not to give up all hope just yet :)

Niobe & LeRoy -- thanks for the support!

Delphi -- That is so sweet that you shared my news with your sister! We do all have a "virtual bond" here in blogland, and I know that I rejoice (or grieve, depending) with all of the big news in here.

Enjoy the (long) weekend, everyone!

I'd have taken 20 tests by now and I would have photographed them, photoshopped them, even x-rayed them! You're so restrained! I'll be waiting to hear your next report and I am hoping it's great news:)

Leroy, my husband told me I was pregnant the first time no matter how many times I told him I was just jetlagged. He said he had a feeling and could I please just take a test. You could have knocked me over with a feather when it came up positive...some guys have great intuition!

Wow Jill...I am impressed by your husband's intuitive ability to know when you got pregnant. I stand corrected! :)

oh my gosh!!! Here I am just kinda spacing out and thinking, I wonder if Ann has posted lately and boom -I see your news. A line is a line. Maybe your hormones just needed a break for a while to prepare for this. Looking forward to your next post.

Fingers be crossed here!

BTW, you want to borrow a couple of teenagers? I'll be glad to loan them to you for a year or so. ;-)

Gulp! I am so stunned and amazed by your news -- how full of hope and wonder I am for you!

Just wanted to join Catherine in saying that light lines don't mean much. It partly depends on the test. I had fairly light lines for two weeks this time around...

I read somewhere that these tests only test positive or negative, but don't give information on the amount of HCG you have. Then again, I didn't read it in a medical journal.
